Investigation into the effect and value of colour, the meaning of its application and the emotions it provokes when used. Looking at what individual colours imply, and its meanings, inclinations and associations amongst different people, trying to identify the subliminal effects of colour.

Colours are a non-verbal form of communication but they can express far more than wording alone and can often be the key factor when identifying an advert with its respective product. At first I was more intrigued about peoples’ thoughts on whether colours do matter, whether people take note of the colours they are viewing or if it is an unknown quality that a colour may have that makes it so effective. But all this was in relation to design.

Furthering my investigation, I have moved away from how colour is important in design, and have looked at it more in relation to everyday life. I am more intrigued about how colour can be ignored or undervalued.
