Anna Newman — Constructing Fear

My project is based around the idea of constructed fear.
The feeling of fear releases endorphins from the brain, a natural pain reliever which leaves an individual feeling happy. Humans crave stimulation in this sense and thats why we enjoy extreme amusement rides and horror movies; essentially, being scared.
My project explores the elements behind the confidential curtain concealing the amusement ride industry to discover how extreme rides are engineered to ensure the maximum amount of fear and adrenaline for the rider. Alongside this, my project analyses techniques used within film to create the same consequences.
