My project is based upon my research into appreciation societies and fan clubs. I have looked into the nature of fan bases and the cultures within appreciation societies and clubs. My work is mostly observational and I have used photographs and publications too explore the nature of the clubs, societies and conventions I attended throughout the project. I have also created a number pf zines that both describe fan club events I attended as well as providing documentation for my own appreciation society that I set up – The Bristol Cake Appreciation Society.
